→ SYDNEY VALETTE
(Synthwave – Oraculo – Paris)

→ SWEAT
(Electronic industrial pop – Londres, UK)
« Sweat formed in 2016 and their first single was instantly championed by Annie Mac at BBC Radio 1 and picked up a wide variety of press from the NME to the Guardian and all the major blogs. After putting on a few sold out squat parties Sweat went on to release a critically acclaimed Pink Love World EP with Meno Records. The band then played numerous festivals nationally and internationally including MIDI festival in France, Bilboloop in Spain, Electric Picnic in Ireland and the BBC Radio 1 showcase at the British Music Embassy at SXSW in the US as well as supporting Lady Gaga at London’s Moth Club. Now after a year and a half of working on a new batch of material Sweat return with single What Men Want. → DEEP TAN
(Coldwave – Practise Music – Londres, UK)
« Hackney-based female trio deep tan just unveiled their new double a-side ‘Shimmer’ and ‘Constant Inconsistencies’ which is out now via Practise Music (Squid, Konradsen, Osquello). The two tracks follow this years breakthrough single ‘Air’ which saw the group draw comparisons to early Warpaint, Wild Beasts and Foals.
Where ‘Shimmer’ recalls ‘Air’s light atmospherics and subtle use of electronics, ‘Constant Inconsistencies’ is a much more confrontational listen – drawing sonic inspiration from the cold-wave side of post-punk.
Both tracks explore sides of people they don’t like. ‘Shimmer’ is about “Surface-level people with malice that runs deep. People who operate with cruel intentions, who mask their agenda with a pretty convincing, shiny veneer.”
Whereas ‘Constant Inconsistencies’ is about someone who isn’t there for you when you need them, whether thats for support in a serious crisis or just for a pint: “It’s a commonly felt thing, everyone has had someone where they’ve thought You love them, but where the fuck are they??”
With these new singles, deep tan are making good on their early promise, rounding off what has been an exciting year which will see them share the stage with Crumb this December. »
